Identification
The species grows to 15 cm in length. Coloration from silvery to nearly coppery yellow with thin dark edge to flank scales. Broad brown area on base of anal fin, merging into lower tail fin edge. Faint black spot on pectoral fin.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in Pacific ocean, from east Australian coasts and Taiwan to most of the Central Pacific islands. Found around coral and rocky reefs, from 5 to 40 meters deep.

Status : The species’ status isn’t assessed but it seems to be common and currently facing no known threats.
