Identification
The species grows to 70 cm for a weight of 8 kg. High profile with straight forehead profile. Coloration olive, sometimes silvery olive and with golden-yellow mottling. Large blotches and vertical band on flanks. Fins heavily spotted.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia, in the Amur river basin and eastern China in the Yangtze river basin. Mostly found in rivers.
