Identification
Silvery head with big eyes and reddish tinge on forehead. Flanks with faint oblique stripes above lateral lines and longitudinal stripes on belly with broader mid-flank yellow stripe. Bright yellow fins.

Range and habitat
Indo-Pacific, from Sri Lanka and Malaysia to Bali, north to south China and Taiwan. Found around coral reefs and nearby rocky reefs, better understanding of its habitat is needed.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has been described from 11 specimens. It seems to be locally common but possibly threatened by overfishing and habitat loss. Better assessment of threats is needed.
