Identification
Adults can reach 40 cm in total length. Fairly slender body with gently sloping forehead and protruding lips. Coloration mostly olive green to brown with clearer yellowish forehead. Many rows of clear blue to white dots all around flanks.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Western Pacific Ocean, from south Korea and Japan to Malaysia, Indonesia, New Caledonia and Micronesia. Lives in seagrass flats, shallow lagoons and coastal reefs, to 50 meters deep.

Status : The species is targeted by fisheries and harvested in big numbers, especially around Philippines. So far it remains common and widespread.
