Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Male has white belly and mostly dark blackish-blue body with more or less broad shiny golden-orange blotch near first half of body. Snout greenish, dark fins, rows of blue dots on tail fin.

Range and habitat
Pacific Ocean, endemic to the Marshall Islands. Found around lagoons and seaward reefs, above coral, algae and rubble patches.

IUCN RED LIST : DATA DEFICIENT
CITES : Not Listed
Status : This species has a very small range and its extent isn’t fully known. It is targeted for the trade and fetches a very high value. Catching for trade must be monitored and controlled.
