Identification
Coloration mostly pink-red with network of broad violet-pink and yellow curved lines on flanks with thinner blue lines parallel to back. White chin, violet-pink belly, row of blue dots on tail fin.

Range and habitat
Western Pacific Ocean, from New Caledonia to Loyalty islands and Great Barrier Reef. Found around seaward and back reef slopes, near rubble patches.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : This species is highly valued by collectors but still rarely caught for trade. Nonetheless, monitoring of trading levels is necessary to assess if this is a long-term threat for the species’ survival.
