Identification
Upper half of body bright orange with conspicuous broad curved longitudinal violet-pink band. Lower half of body light pink. Yellow tinge on fins. Long pointed triangular tail fin.

Range and habitat
Western Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Philippines and probably to Micronesia. Found around steep seaward reefs, usually in deep waters.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : This species occurs in deep waters and likely remain safe from habitat destruction at this time. It is very rarely collected for the trade.
