Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
The species grows to 12 cm. Slender body, long thin snout. Bottom half of body is pure white with slight darker edges on scales. Upper half of body bright yellow with three black spots on dorsal and tail fins. Tail fin half yellow, half white.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indian Ocean, from Maldives and Sri Lanka to Thailand and peninsular Malaysia. Lives in coral reef edges, in sand and rubble areas, from 7 to 60 meters deep.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range where it is quite common. It seems to suffer from no threats at this time.
