Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Pink body with faint darker markings on each flank scales. Orange tail fin, edged blue. Pink, orange, green and light blue bands and markings on face. Violet-edged black spot behind eyes.

Range and habitat
Indo-Pacific area, from Cocos-Keeling islands to Marquesas and Pitcairn islands. Found around steep drop-offs over patches of mixed coral and rubble.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range and lives in deep waters. So far, it doesn’t seem to be facing any threats. Collection for the trade is minimal.
