Identification
Body mint to bright green, blue edged orange-red spots forming broken circles on flanks, more crowded on back. Blue-edged pink markings on yellow-green face. Yellow corners on tail fin.

Range and habitat
Indian Ocean, from Sri Lanka to Andaman Islands, Thailand and Indonesia to western New Guinea. Occurs around shallow coastal reefs, on rocky substrate with soft corals and algae.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is widespread within its range. It is vulnerable to habitat loss with coral reef destruction in most of its range and locally caught for the trade (especially in Indonesia).
