Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Male bright pink-red with very faint thin broken violet-blue longitudinal lines on flanks. Fine purple and yellow reticulated pattern on chin. Red filaments on dorsal fin. Round tail fin with violet bands.

Range and habitat
Pacific Ocean, found from south Japan to Cebu and Batangas, Philippines. Occurs around steep outer reef slopes above rubble and coral patches.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a small range and remains very poorly known. It isn’t often collected for the trade so threats are minimal at this time.
