Identification
Adults can grow to 7,8 cm in length. Elongated face. Coloration mostly orange-yellow, sometimes with reddish tinge on back and face. Six thick horizontal bright orange to violet lines visible on flanks. Violet-black spots on lower gill coverts.

Range and habitat
The species occurs around the western Indian Ocean, near the coasts of East Madagascar and around Réunion and Mauritius islands. Lives in coral reefs and fringing habitats, from 15 to 37 meters deep.

Status : The species has a very small range and is very poorly known. Its range and the possible threats it is facing need more investigation.
