Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Rounded belly, small but powerful mouth, large eyes. Coloration with broad black and white vertical bands on flanks, dark back. Body covered with long and thin bright yellow spines.

Range and habitat
Indo-Pacific, only occurs around south Australia, from central New South Wales to Western Australia. Found around shallow bays, in small aggregations.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : Poorly known species with a relatively small range. It doesn’t seem to be vulnerable to any threats at this time but monitoring should be carried out.
