Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Very small filefish, dorsal and anal fins triangular and edged black. Most flanks reddish-brown with crowded white spots of different sizes. Face with blue dots forming diagonal lines.

Range and habitat
Western Pacific Ocean, from south Korean coasts through Japan and Taiwan. Found amongst all kinds of bottom cover (algae, seagrass, invertebrates).

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a fairly small range but is locally abundant and can survive even without seagrass if there are enough invertebrates and rocks nearby. So far, no threats are known.
