Identification
Large triggerfish reaching up to 50 cm in length. Coloration is grey overall with distinct large scales visible, especially near tail. Fins slightly darker, eyes nearly black. Dorsal and anal fins very long and pointed. Small mouth.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area, only around the Red Sea and the Gulf of Oman. Lives mostly in offshore waters, down to at least 100 meters deep.

Status : The species has a fairly small range but seems to remain safe at this point.
