Identification
Bluish face and belly, beige back. Bright yellow ring around protruding mouth, thick yellow line from mouth to pectoral fin base. Black crescent-shaped mark on yellow tail, black tail peduncle.

Range and habitat
Southern Pacific Ocean, from Australia (Queensland) to Pitcairn islands. Found around outer reefs, at least at 10 meters deep and more.

Status : The species is very rarely observed and seems to be globally uncommon. At this time, nothing is known about possible threats it faces. Extremely rare under human care, not bred.
