Body length of 230 cm, tail length of 109 cm, weight of 90 kg. Male is much bigger than females. Very powerful hindlegs and long tail with dark tip. Pelage grey to light brown-grey with lighter grey-white belly. Clearer hairs around muzzle.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the eastern half of Australia, from Cape York Peninsula to south-east South Australia and eastern Tasmania. This subspecies is found in east and south Australia. Lives in dry forests, woodlands, shrublands and agricultural areas.

Status : This species has a large range and remains fairly common to locally common throughout. May become vulnerable to habitat loss in the future.
