Identification
No body measurements available, weight to 6.4 kg The subspecies is usually grey to beige-grey, often with darker belly and crown. Hands and feet with same color as body. White hairs around eyebrows and down to cheeks and chin.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia and is endemic to Borneo. This subspecies is found in the central-western part of the island, in Sarawak and Kalimantan. Lives in primary and secondary humid evergreen forest.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix I
Status : This subspecies is more and more endangered by deforestation and forest burning for palm oil culture despite being legally protected. Caught for trade.
