Identification
Adults will grow up to 51 cm in body length for a weight of 6 kg. Dark brown fur except on inside of limbs and belly (white). Cheeks are yellowish-white, eyerings are naked and dark blue. This subspecies has a bright orange nose patch.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to DR Congo, being found between Congo and Kasai Sankuru rivers. The species also occurs from Angola to western Tanzania. Lives in primary and disturbed dry and humid forest, up to 2500 meters.

Status : The species has a large range and can tolerate a certain degree of habitat disturbance.
