Identification
Adults can grow to a body length of 75 cm, tail length of 90 cm and weight up to 23 kg. Black face surrounded with white hairs, black crown, black limbs, white mantle. Subspecies with most of tail white with large tuft, mantle smaller.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Central Kenya. Species found in central Africa, from Cameroon to south-east Sudan, western Ethiopia, south to Tanzania. Lives in tropical forests in lowlands and mountains, wooded grasslands, to 3000 m.

Status : This species has a large range. This particular subspecies is endemic to a small but protected area and is abundant within its range.
