Identification
The species grows to 66 cm in length for a weight of 14 kg. Males slightly bigger than females. Head greyish-brown with naked pink to brown facial skin. White chest and belly, back and flanks golden to dark brown, short tail (up to 31 cm).

Range and habitat
The species occurs from Pakistan and India to north Vietnam and east to north-east China. Lives in many kinds of subtropical and tropical habitats, including cities, to 4000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has a huge range and can adapt well to living in modified habitats, even in cities. It is still often persecuted and locally caught for trade.
