Identification
Body length of 110 cm, shoulder height of 69 cm, weight of 30 kg. Females hornless, males have 30 cm long horns with up to 16 rings. Coloration sandy-yellow with slightly darker back. White belly. White muzzle and facial stripe.

Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in eastern Asia, in Mongolia and in northern China (Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi and Nei Mongol provinces). Lives in semi-deserts, steppes and montane grasslands.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Not listed
Status : The subspecies’ populations in Mongolia have declined dramatically in recent years because of overhunting. Globally, the species is more threatened by hunting than by loss of habitat, at this time.
