Identification
Adults can reach an arm length of over 30 cm. Very small round body with mouth on the upperside. Arms are usually brown with numerous finger-like pinnules being bright yellowish-green. Arms are usually held vertical above body.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area, from Bay of Bengal and the Maldives to Indonesia, Australia and Marshall Islands. Lives in coral reefs swept with strong currents, from surface to 50 meters deep.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status has yet to be assessed but it seems to be fairly common to locally abundant. It may be vulnerable to coral reef destruction.
