Identification
Medium-sized sea-star reaching an armspan of 20 cm. Short and wide triangular arms with a row of thick round projections on edges. Coloration is generally mottled brown with dark edges and red blotches on disk.

Range and habitat
Its range is poorly known. Occurs in western Pacific, from southern Japan and Taiwan to at least Philippines, maybe even Indonesia. Lives in sandy and rubble bottoms, down to more than 30 m depth.

CITES : Not listed
Status : This species is very poorly known but seems to be fairly common in the wild and not currently facing any threats. Not assessed yet.
