Identification
Adults can reach a wingspan of 9 cm. Body black with lots of white spots, even on head. Forewing black with large orange spots and white dots. Hindwings with long grey-edged white spots and two rows of white dots.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia, from Assam (India) to south China and Taiwan, south to Malaysia and western Indonesia, also Philippines. Subspecies found in Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra. Lives in secondary and disturbed forests in lowlands and foothills.

Status : The species hasn’t been assessed by IUCN red list so far but seems to remain safe and numerous within its huge range.
