Identification
The species reaches a wingspan of a 8 cm. Head and thorax black with white spots, black abdomen. Dark brown wings with two rows of white spots on edges and additional white spots on forewing. Underside is similar.

Range and habitat
The species occurs from Vietnam and Myanmar to Philippines, south to Malaysia, Sumatra, Java and Borneo. Subspecies endemic to Borneo. Lives in forests and humid woodlands.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species apparently remains common in the wild but only lives in forests. Therefore it could become threatened by deforestation in the future.
