Identification
The species reaches a wingspan of a 4.5 cm. Head and thorax black with white spots, bluish abdomen. Wings are brown with two rows of white spots on outside margins, lower row has larger spots. Blue area on upperside of forewing.

Range and habitat
The species occurs from India to south China, south to Malaysia, Singapore and western Indonesia. Subspecies found in China and Indochina. Lives in forests, woodlands, shrublands, suburban parks and gardens.

Status : The species is globally common in the wild and can live in man-altered environments, including parks in cities. Not assessed so far.
