Identification
The species reaches a wingspan of a 5.5 cm. Head and thorax black with white spots. Brown wings, two rows of white spots on underside and blue area with scattered white dots on upperside. Females have white stripes on both sides.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, from India to south China, south to Malaysia, Singapore and western Indonesia. Subspecies endemic to Borneo. Lives in forests, woodlands, mangroves suburban parks and gardens.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species is globally common in the wild and can live in man-altered environments, including parks in cities. Not assessed so far.
