Identification
The species reaches a wingspan of a 6 cm. Head and thorax black with white spots, black abdomen with clear barring. Male is black with row of blue spots on edges of wings. Rows of large white spots on both wings. Female brown.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in northern India and Nepal, then from Indochina to Malaysia and western Indonesia. Mostly found in forests and humid woodlands, rarely in urban areas.

Status : The species has a large range and seems to be common locally. It might become threatened by deforestation if not capable of quick adaptation.
