Identification
Adults can grow to a wingspan up to 14 cm. Very large and broad wings with white base color and numerous black veins and spots. Edges of wings show silvery-white spots separated by black edging. Body striped black and white.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Luzon. The species occurs from Japan and Taiwan to Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and western and central Indonesia. Lives in mangroves, humid woodlands and forests, up to 400 meters.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species hasn’t been assessed but it has a huge range and is locally common. Some populations may be locally threatened by loss of habitat.
