Identification
The species grows to 12 cm in wingspan. Underside light blue to green-white with dark edges, lines and white circles. Upperside with row of white blotches, dark edges and blue lines. Subspecies with turquoise blue middle of wings.

Range and habitat
Subspecies found in Malaysia and Singapore. Species occurs from India and Sri Lanka to south China, to Indonesia, New Guinea and Philippines. Lives in primary and secondary rainforests near water, to 300 m.

Status : The species has a huge range and is locally very numerous although locally possibly threatened by deforestation, especially on islands.
