Identification
Adults can grow to a wingspan of 6 cm. Hindwings are pointed. Male’s upperside bright orange with black lines and black dots and ocelli near edges. Female is greenish with broad white band. Underside is greyish-brown with similar markings.

Range and habitat
Subspecies found from south Thailand to Singapore. Species also occurs throughout western and Central Indonesia and Philippines. Lives around edges of primary and secondary forests, forest clearings.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a large range but some insular subspecies are probably endangered because of loss of habitat and clearing of vines for agriculture.
