Identification
Small butterfly species, reaching 2.2 cm in wingspan. Body bright yellow with green eyes and black antennae. Wings bright yellow (duller for females) with indistinct brown markings. Upperside shows broad black edging on both wings.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in subsaharan Africa and in Asia, from India and South China to Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. Lives in open grasslands and scrublands.

Status : The species is very common to abundant in suitable habitat. It hasn’t been assessed but isn’t considered threatened.
