Identification
Large species growing to nearly 10 cm in wingspan. Wings are creamy white with parallel black bands on forewings. Black wing edges with white dots. Underside is brown with a conspicuous red band. Long black and white tail.

Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs from east India to Thailand and Vietnam. The species is also found in India, Sri Lanka and on Hainan island. Lives in deciduous forests and woodlands with bushes, usually below 900 m.

Status : The species’ status hasn’t been assessed. It appears to be quite common but very local within its range.
