Identification
Adult females can reach up to 6 cm in length, males between 11 and 13 cm. Huge cylindrical body. Males display three forward pointing horns on head and thorax. Head horn enlarged towards tip. Coloration shiny brown-black.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in south-east Asia, from Thailand to Vietnam, south to Malaysia, western Indonesia and Philippines. Subspecies found in Malaysia and Sumatra. Lives in forests and woodlands.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species hasn’t been assessed but has a huge range. Despite collection for trade and loss of habitat, it is probably still considered safe so far.
