Identification
Adults can grow to 8 cm in length, male being much bigger than female and with two double-tipped horns, one on the top of its cephalothorax, one just above its mouth, both of them pointing forward. Black color with brown elytra.

Range and habitat
Subspecies found on Sumatra and peninsular Malaysia. Species also found from Indochina to central Indonesia (Lesser Sundas). Lives in lowland forests up to 1000 m.

Status : The species’ status hasn’t been assessed. It could be vulnerable to habitat destruction on the long term but seems to remain common so far.
