Identification
The world’s largest katydid species and one of the largest insects knownn reaching 15 cm in length for a wingspan of 25 cm. Body usually bright green with very long legs. Some specimens are beige with longitudinal dark bands.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia, in Peninsular Malaysia and on Sumatra island, Indonesia. Occurs in humid forests.

Status : This species’ status isn’t assessed. Its dependence on humid forests makes it potentially vulnerable to deforestation and loss of prey items.
