Identification
Adult females can grow up to 8 cm in length, males are smaller. They have 2 pairs of beige wings folded over the abdomen. Body is dark brown with clear markings. Head shield light beige with squarish brown marking.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central and South America, from Mexico and the Caribbean islands to Chile and Argentina. Lives in humid areas with little light such as tree hollows, caves and crevices.

Status : This species’ status has yet to be assessed by IUCN but it’s probably very common to abundant in most of its range.
