Identification
Adults can grow to 9 cm in length, rarely more, with females bigger than males and having a bigger abdomen. Huge mantis species, usually entirely green with black between abdomen segments. Some specimens are yellow or brown.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia, in India and possibly Indochina and Malaysia (its true natural range remains poorly known). Lives in rainforests and woodlands with shrubs and bushes.

Status : The species’ status hasn’t been assessed but it has a large range and appears to be common. Often collected for the pet trade worldwide.
