Identification
Males are rarely observed, females can grow up to 15 cm. Abdomen segmented, dark green with orange-red edges. Cephalothorax bluish-green with little spines on back. Small red-orange wings. Legs are purplish. Juveniles bright green.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia and is found in Japan (only on Iriomote and Ishigaki) and on Taiwan. Found in coastal woodlands with Pandanus plants.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a small range and very specific habitat and food requirements. It is targeted by conservation measures in Taiwan.
