Identification
Females can grow to about 21 cm in length whereas males reach about 14.5 cm. Large females are beige to brownish-green with red speckles on the underside and black wavy lines on flanks. Reddish head. Males similar but smaller.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia , in Peninsular Malaysia (and maybe nearby southern Thailand) and on Sumatra, Indonesia. Maybe found on Java. Lives in forests and dense woodlands.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status hasn’t been assessed. It is common within its range in suitable habitat but habitat loss and pollution can become threats.
