Identification
Adults can grow to a legspan of 15 cm, even more on rare occasions. Body and legs covered with long reddish hairs. Black abdomen, black cephalothorax with white edges. Legs with black base and large black and white rings.

Range and habitat
The species can be found in South America and occurs in the southern half of Brazil and Paraguay. Lives in dry savannas with scattered trees and bushes.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status has yet to be assessed. It appears to be quite common in suitable habitat. The impact of international trade seems bearable so far.
