Identification
Huge tarantula with long thick legs and fairly small abdomen, reaching a legspan of 22 cm for a body length of 4 cm. Coloration is brown on legs, beige-brown on cephalothorax. Abdomen shows longitudinal and transversal dark bands.

Range and habitat
The species can be found in South-East Asia and is apparently endemic to Peninsular Malaysia. Mostly found in rainforests and humid forests.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status has yet to be assessed. It is still locally common within its range but could become threatened by deforestation.
