Identification
The species can reach up to 38 cm in length. Small dorsal crest, becoming longer on neck. Triangular-shaped head. Coloration usually beige to orange-brown with radiating stripes from eye. Males have black and red throat.

Range and habitat
The species is found in South-east Asia, from Pakistan and India to China, south to Indonesia (Sumatra). Introduced in many countries worldwide. Lives in semi-open and open humid habitats, parks, gardens.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species is very common around its range and has been introduced in many places around the world. It is displacing less adaptable lizards.
