Identification
Adults can grow to 20 cm in length with females being bigger than males. Large triangular head with big white-spotted black eyes. Coloration usually chocolate brown with marbled back. Lips and chin are orange-yellow. Light flanks.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia, from Thailand to Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo. The other subspecies occurs on Sunana Island in Indonesia. Lives in cool and humid montane rainforests.

CITES : Not listed
Status : This species appears to be uncommon but still found where habitat is intact. Vulnerable to trapping.
