Identification
Adults can grow to 26 cm in length. Large leaf-shaped flat tail. Wrinkles present on sides of body and warts under mouth for camouflage. Coloration is mottled beige-brown. At night, females are clearer than males.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Madagascar. It occurs on Nosy Be island, in northwest Sambriano region and in western Madagascar around Ankarafantsika. Lives in primary deciduous dry forest and bamboo forest.

Conservation
IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has been assessed as Vulnerable by IUCN. Its range is fragmented and the forest where it lives is highly threatened by logging activities.
