Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 75 cm for a tail length of 100 cm. Head elongated but shorter and thicker than V. salvator. Adult coloration is grey-brown with faint transversal black bands and white spots on flanks and back.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in southeast Asia, from Myanmar and Vietnam to Peninsular Malaysia, Java and Riau Archipelago in Indonesia. Mostly occurs in moist forests, plantations and suburban parks.

IUCN RED LIST : NOT LISTED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species hasn’t been listed yet by IUCN. It has a large range and remains common but is hunted, even persecuted, in most of its range.
