Identification
The species grows to 100 cm in length. Slightly flattened nose, almost no ridge from eye to snout. Coloration is bright green, sometimes bluish on flanks and sides of head. Red to orange-green eyes. Males have red and white bands on sides.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia , from east Nepal and Myanmar to western Laos, northern and western Thailand and on Langkawi Island (Malaysia). Lives in montane humid forests, from 700 to 1700 meters.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a large range but is very localized because of its habitats requirements. So far no population declines have been noted.
