Small myna species growing to 22 cm in length for a weight of 76 grams. Distinctive species with large area of bright orange bare skin around eyes. Plumage mostly grey except from head, wings and tail which are black.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in southern central Asia, from Central Pakistan to most of northern India, east to Bangladesh. Closely associated with humans, found in agricultural areas and in cities.

Status : The species is common throughout its range and is expanding its range towards southern India. Introduced successfully in many countries.
