Identification
Black head with large bright pink naked areas on cheeks and around eyes. Black bill, black breast and belly, grey wings and back. Subspecies with broad black band on lower nape and back.

Range and habitat
Subspecies occurs in central and south Philippines, from the Visayas to Mindanao. Found in forests, forest edges, coconut groves and isolated trees in clearings, to 1500 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is wide-ranging and quite common despite deforestation. It is locally trapped for the trade and hunted for food but these are not considered threats at this time.
